Incatro was asked to find the optimal acoustic solution for the design and construction phases of the new Inspirium Amsterdam.
Since 2011, the Inspirium Breda has been offering entrepreneurs in the hospitality sector the opportunity of real-world advice and experience. In 2017, the Breda location reopened with a completely new concept, and recently, a second Inspirium location in Amsterdam was added: the former Horecawerf was renamed Inspirium Amsterdam. The organization works with various partners to help its customers in the hospitality sector improve their guest experience. Incatro has been involved in various projects. The Inspirium locations in Breda and Amsterdam were designed together with a total of 20 partners. Their aim is to showcase a state-of-the-art guest experience, including good acoustics. When visiting an Inspirium location, guests are greeted personally by the host and put in touch with the partners that are important to them
Collaboration with Inspirium Amsterdam and Breda
When the new Inspirium Amsterdam was designed and set up, the question of room acoustics came up very quickly. Several rooms in the Inspiration suffered from poor acoustics, and Incatro was asked to find the best solution to this problem. Once the entire building had been stripped to its industrial core, the work of Incatro started.
The challenge was to create a homogenous acoustic experience by choosing the materials and sound insulation solution for each part of the building. Incatro was able to design and deliver suitable solutions for all rooms. These solutions consisted of acoustic wall products, acoustic ceilings and free-standing acoustic elements.
The architect of the Inspirium Amsterdam had a very clear vision, and his handwriting can be seen throughout the entire building and the interior. To meet his needs, we designed a beautiful, floating acoustic ceiling with a whole range of unique shapes. This created an overall impression which fits very well with the style of the Inspirium.
The following acoustic products were installed:
• ARTpanel (wall)
• ARTceiling (ceiling)
• ARTwall projector screen for the Inspirium Breda
• Soundleaves; FLOORseries, DESKseries and WALLseries
In the following video, Carl Huijskens explains the contribution Incatro made to the Inspirium:
ARTbase was one of the acoustic products Incatro installed in the new showroom in Amsterdam. With ARTbase, acoustics and design in living or working environments can be combined in an ideal way. ARTbase is an acoustic pillar that improves the acoustics in a room by absorbing reverberation. Thanks to this innovative technology, ARTbase even allows the absorption of low frequencies. The acoustic column offers the perfect solution to problems with the acoustics when there is little space on walls or ceilings, or you don't want to use any hanging elements.
Technical specifications of the ARTbase column:
• Made of aluminum (3 mm, powder-coated), filled with various sound-absorbing materials and completely covered with fabric
• Adjustable 10 mm high plastic feet. Or optionally 45 mm high braked wheels
• Dimensions: 355 mm x 355 mm x 1620 mm (including base)
• Weight: 22.4 kg
• Standard profile color: anthracite black (RAL 7021) or white (RAL 9016);
• Standard fabric: Gabriel Runner & Omega
• Luxury fabric: PONGS Silencio.
Thanks to the collaboration of the various partners at the Inspirium, an inspiring and impressive environment was created, allowing existing and future customers to find their own style. Are you curious about the end result? Then visit one of the Inspirium's two showrooms in Amsterdam or Breda.
